With Asuran remake and F2 sequel in the pipleline, Venky has his hands full

Venkatesh was in his element playing Naga Chaitanya’s doting uncle in Venky Mama, but his next, the Telugu remake of Dhanush’s Tamil hit Asuran, will showcase his most intense avatar ever, reckons the actor. “I am constantly trying to reinvent myself. Dhanush’s character in Asuran simply blew my mind. It’s such a brooding,
psyched out character, something I’ve never seen in Telugu cinema.Set in the 1980s, the film is very raw and intense,” says the actor, who is reuniting with director Srikanth Addala for the movie again after Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Talking about his character, Venky goes on to add, “He is like an asuran (demon). His behaviour and expressions and emotions are intense all through. A father of two kids, he goes around killing people to get his revenge. Dhanush did a fabulous job and I knew playing a character like that is going to be a challenge for me.” Venky also confirms that F2 – Fun and Frustration sequel is on the cards. “When we were doing F2 – Fun and Frustration, I was sure that it will make for a great comedy franchise. I have already had a few script discussions with Varun (Tej) and Anil Ravipudi (director). Once we lock in on the plotline, we’ll announce F3. We’re yet to finalise the heroines though, but it will have Varun and me in the lead,” says Venky, signing off.
